벌써 6번째 '호흡'
  • 유독 홍상수 감독과 연이 깊은 '로카르노 국제영화제(Locarno International Film Festival)'가 또 다시 홍 감독의 작품을 국제 경쟁 부문에 초청해 화제를 모으고 있다.

    미국 일간지 버라이어티(Variety)에 따르면 스위스 '로카르노영화제' 주최 측은 현지 시각으로 11일 공식 홈페이지에 '비경쟁 부문(PIAZZA GRANDE)'과 '국제 경쟁 부문(INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION)' 라인업을 공개한 뒤 홍 감독이 연출한 '강변호텔(Hotel by The River)'을 국제 경쟁 부문 초청작에 포함시킨 것으로 드러났다.

    홍 감독의 23번째 장편 영화인 '강변호텔'은 한 중년 남성이 자신의 자녀와 젊은 여성을 만나면서 벌어지는 에피소드를 다룬 작품이다. 홍 감독의 '불륜 파트너' 김민희는 이번 영화에서도 주연으로 맹활약했다.

    2015년 이후 홍 감독과 무려 5작품('지금은 맞고 그때는 틀리다', '밤의 해변에서 혼자', '그 후', '클레어의 카메라', '풀잎들')을 함께 한 김민희가 '밤의 해변에서 혼자(베를린영화제 여우주연상)'에 이어 또 다시 해외영화제 트로피를 거머쥘 수 있을지 귀추가 주목된다.

    홍 감독은 2013년과 2015년 열린 '로카르노영화제'에서 '최우수 감독상(우리 선희)', '남우주연상(정재영 / 지금은 맞고 그때는 틀리다)', '황금표범상(지금은 맞고 그때는 틀리다)'을 고루 수상하며 남다른 인연을 과시한 바 있다.

    제71회 '로카르노영화제'는 오는 8월 1일부터 11일까지 스위스 로카르노에서 열린다.
